10-step process for developing your own business plan from scratch...

1. Collect 5-10 copies of the different Business Plans from friends and associates...
2. Read each one carefully; determine the best format; highlight what you want...
3. Go to a library or bookstore and check out or purchase several books...
4. Read every magazine article on the subject you can find to become an expert...
5. Talk to friends, business associates, consultants - ask them for advice...
6. Gather all your best ideas and materials together, and have a typing service or secretary type your selections into a wordprocessor...
7. Figure out what else you need to include and begin typing. Cut and paste the sections together, then edit them on your wordprocessor - add titles, headings, a table of contents, etc.
8. Review your work, proof the text and format for accuracy and consistency, then desktop publish your document to make it look good (remember to use boldface, italic and headline-sized type)...
9. Design, program and double check the math in your spreadsheets...
10. Find and hire an appropriate accountant, attorney and/or consultant (specializing in the subject matter), explain your situation, and have them make suggestions, changes and additions...
