BizPlanBuilder v8.0

BizPlanBuilder v8 Installation Problems

1) Please Turn Off Norton Anti-Virus...

If you are running Norton Anti-Virus, please temporarily turn it off, and then re-install BizPlanBuilder.

b> Please Install the Latest Windows & Office Updates

From your (desktop) START menu, click on 'Windows Updates' and follow the directions to download Windows and Office patches (Service Packs). That should solve this problem once and for all. Please make sure you have updated to ALL of the service packs... Windows 2000 has 2.

(BizPlanBuilder 8.1 automatically checks Windows & Office versions before trying the automation, so that if you don't have SR-2 it tells you that problems may ensue and to go to Microsoft's Web site to download it!)

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

these are some of those wacko problems that drive us all crazy...

We are working to do our best to prevent this from ever happening again.

So, from here, if you would, please tell us about your success with BizPlanBuilder! We would love to hear about it!

Norton Anti-Virus

(Microsoft has reported an issue with Norton Anti-Virus and Office 2000. Norton adds a virus scan plug-in to Office 2000 that has caused 'automation errors' for some applications using OLE Automation. This issue is described in more detail at:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q246018

(We have been able to reproduce the automation error in a test scenario with Office 2000 and Norton Anti-Virus 2001. We have not been able to reproduce it without those components.

If you are running Norton Anti-Virus, you could try this workaround from the Microsoft site and see if it solves your problem:

1. From the 'Start' menu, click 'Run'

2. Type the following command (including quotes) on the Run line (change the path to the file as needed):

3. regsvr32 /U "C:Program FilesNorton AntiVirusOfficeAV.dll"

4. Note that you receive a dialog box stating that the command succeeded.

"In some cases, you may need to rename the oleaut32.dll and reinstall Office 2000. To rename oleaut32.dll, it is usually necessary to boot into MS-DOS mode because more than likely the Operating System has the file locked."

For now, we hope this helps...

We are scrambling to provide a permanent fix for this problem. Please enter your email under product support and we will send you access to the patch.

This is one of those lame problems that we do our best to compensate for...

Sometimes, we too want to throw our computers out the window.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.
