I the interest of time and sanity, please try the OS Classic to get installed...
(We started JIAN on Macs, but I have lost touch over the years...)

Been trying to get some support from Apple too.
Anyway, OS X is supposed to work... albeit we just have the templates for the Mac
I think you'll find the content has dramatically improved.
I believe that you should be fine with the spreadsheet models too.
