How to: Manage Text & Formatting Styles
We have used styles on every text item in the BizPlanBuilder system and we have included a special Word template* (JIAN.dot) for managing your business plan documents separately from everything else on your system. This way you can format a heading, for example, and every heading like it will automatically change to look the very same. Here goes...
Pull down under 'Tools' to 'Templates and Add-ins'
Put checks in these boxes:
[x] Automatically Update Document Styles
[x] JIAN.dot
Click 'Attach'
A new window will appear:
Click on 'JIAN'
Click 'Open'
Click 'OK'
Groovy.
If you want to change the master style sheet, the next time you modify the style of any text, pull-down under 'Format' to 'Styles & Formatting'
In Word XP, you will get a list of styles on the right, click on the arrow at right of the style name, and let go on "Modify...". The 'Modify Styles' window will appear.
Make your changes, then put a check in the box (at bottom left):
[x] Add to template
Click 'OK'
*If "JIAN.dot" does not appear here, then you can grab it from the BizPlanBuilder folder and surgically implant it yourself.
Open your 'C:' drive and look for the 'Program Files' folder.
Open 'JIAN', then open 'BizPlanBuilder' -- it's in here somewhere! OK, keep this window open and hold on to that file. Now we'll show you where to put it:
Open the 'C:' drive again,
Open 'Documents & Settings'
Open 'Owner'
Open 'Application Data
Open 'Microsoft
Open 'Templates
Drag the 'JIAN.dot' into the 'Templates' folder.
