Problem: Converting files from EmployeeManualMaker into WordPerfect 3.x files and get pages of squiggly little lines.
When using EmployeeManualMaker with WordPerfect 3.0 or higher on the Macintosh, some JIAN users have experienced problems when trying to convert the Employee Manual file from RTF (Rich Text Format) into WordPerfect. They usually get what appears to be pages of dashed lines.
To fix this, follow these steps:
1) Run WordPerfect
2) Go to the FILE menu and choose OPEN.
3) Switch to the EmployeeManualMaker folder and choose the Employee Manual File and click on the OPEN button.
4) Once the document is open, go to the EDIT menu and choose SELECT ALL. This will highlight all the text in the document… this may take some time depending on the speed of the Mac you are using (the file is over 130 pages in length).
5) Go to your Layout ruler and click on the Line Spacing button (This is found to the right of the No Columns button).
6) From the drop-down menu that appears, choose OTHER…
7) In the window that appears, there will be an area titled "Line Height" Within this area, put a checkmark or X in front of the item AUTOMATIC, then click on OK.
8) WordPerfect will think about this for a while, but when it is done you should be able to see the text in the document. When you can, save the document so you don't have to do these steps again.
