THEFT PROTECTION: (SERIAL) NUMBER, PLEASE!

Theft of equipment, including everything from large cranes to computers, poses a constant threat to businesses. Stolen
equipment costs money - not to mention the time spent on
reporting losses, finding replacement units, and reorganizing workflow.

To help protect your business against this danger, keep the
serial number of each piece of equipment in a permanent file.

Then have this number etched or steel punched in various places on the unit. Many thieves steal equipment to sell parts, or to ship the entire unit out of the country. Identifying your equipment with prominent and indelible serial numbers should help discourage theft and improve the odds of recovering stolen property.
