noteTo some an employee policy manual is merely a checklist item—if that is all you need, you can save money on a cheaper system. If employee policies and an employee policy manual are important to developing your company culture as well as effectively managing your employees, then your investment in Employee Manual Builder is worth it.

Clearly communicate your HR benefits, expectations and policies

If you are spending more time on employee motivation and human resource management than on running your business, you need Employee Manual Builder. Human resources experts agree that a carefully written employee policy handbook can improve morale, increase productivity, prevent disagreements, and even keep you out of court. By setting clear standards of conduct, you'll make sure that you and other managers will treat every employee fairly and consistently.

Advanced & evolved... an up-to-date employee policies & procedures handbook makes managing easier
Employee Manual Builder provides the easiest and fastest way to produce a comprehensive human resources policy and procedures manual for your company. It can save you thousands of dollars and many, many hours of work. Plus, you and your management team will learn many valuable management tips and practices that will minimize HR issues, keep you out of court and maintain a productive working environment.

noteWhen I first hired the consultants to develop Employee Manual Builder, I told them I wanted technically correct HR policies as well as experience and wisdom woven throughout to help business owners to better (consciously) manage their people. Businesses grow... they hire people... uh oh... "Without rules, people make up their own." It is better to implement your own business practices and establish your culture that way you want it as soon as possible. Imagine taking the best of our experiences working for others, correcting the crappy styles endured along the way, as well as applying many great new ideas fit for running companies today. What about tattoos, piercings, gifts, office sex, cell-phone use, email...? It's about being up-front with expectations, communicating procedures, and addressing a variety of what-if scenarios. For both employers and employees, it feels better to know that much has been considered, positively addressed and constantly updated. We want that for you. - Burke Franklin, CEO, JIAN

joyce baywood employee policy software userI wanted to tell you how easy the Jian Employee Manual Builder is to use. The Manual's reference to the law is a wonderful reminder of the details we may forget when writing, and the number of options given for specific policies is terrific. The software gave me answers to policies I never even thought of!

Yes! I am extremely happy with your product. I had an ancient floppy disk version sitting on the shelf. I downloaded and installed the upgrade, edited the policies, converted the entire document to PDF, and uploaded it to our web server!   Thanks to you and your fine company, I was able to quickly publish a real, editable policy handbook instead of just slapping something together.   As a small business consultant, you can be sure that I will recommend your software to others in our sphere of influence.

My overall evaluation is that EmployeeManualBuilder is a remarkable value. Any organization regardless of size should be able to find value in this product.

A better software context for making employee policies & procedures choices

Some software products present you with a screen and some check boxes or radio buttons expecting you to make your decisions then and there with the system taking over to produce your policies manual. We think that is more difficult for you as well as a bit dangerous — at JIAN we look for “out of the buttons” solutions and ideas that may actually work better for your company.

First, you need to be shown the bigger picture, offered some choices and provided with thorough explanations before you commit your business to a certain choice. Therefore, we don’t limit you to checkboxes and radio buttons, instead, we provide the entire policies handbook where you can read the options and edit the text your way. Throughout, we provide expert comments explaining each choice and making suggestions to consider for each policy within context of your entire policy manual and management desires.

With EmployeeManualBuilder, I had 30 pages done in two days. I love it. It covers everything from absenteeism to vacation policies. It even had pre-written employment applications.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal law that prohibits discrimination in access to services and employment against persons who are disabled. The ADA, Public Law 101-336, was enacted on July 26, 1990. The ADA has varying implementation and effective dates for different sections.

  • July 26, 1990 - enacted
  • July 26, 1992 - 25 or more employees
  • July 26, 1994 - 15 or more employees
  • The EEOC determines regulatory guidelines

Disability:

Defined as anything that limits one or more major life activities (sight, hearing, walking, etc.)

Impact:

  •  Interviewers are not allowed to ask questions about or discuss a disability - They can ask questions based on ability to accomplish specific tasks of position, i.e. what accommodation might be necessary.
  •  Reasonable accommodation will be expected.
  •  Job descriptions and specifications are a vital part of the employment process (essential and non-essential elements of a job need to be detailed).
  •  A Written compliance policy with data collection and evaluation criteria are required.
  •  Corporate supervisors and managers must develop the knowledge and ability to discuss disability related issues.
  •  Disability related information about workers should be maintained in a separate location from the personnel files (available on need-to-know basis only).
  •  Confidentiality must by enforced.
  •  Sources are needed to provide information about disabled workers, accommodations, conditions, etc.
  •  Prepare for customer inquiry/complaints - Who is going to handle the comments?
  •  Employee/customer awareness programs may be needed.
