Good public relations management practices

Review Product Follow-Ups

About two weeks after you have sent out the product, call reviewers to follow-up with them.

You want to accomplish the following:
• Make sure they received the product.
• Ensure that it works properly.
• Find out if they have any problems or questions.
• Provide general troubleshooting.
• Find out how and when they plan to review it.

If any problems are too technical for you to discuss, have your support department call and answer the reporters’ questions. Follow up with the support department to get summaries of the conversations, then call the reporters to see if they have other questions.

You can’t afford to lose the review after you’ve gone this far. These steps can mean the difference between success and failure. By staying in touch with the reviewer and finding out if problems exist, you will increase the chances of getting a review.
